JDU felicitates workers following poll result; Nitish Kumar launches party’s new membership drive

Patna, Dec 6 (LatestNewsX) – The Janata Dal (United) marked Saturday with a large celebratory event at its main office in Patna, recognizing the hard‑working volunteers who helped secure the party’s victory in the Bihar Assembly polls.
During the ceremony, the party handed out certificates and mementos to those who spent countless hours campaigning from village squares to polling booths. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived on site and personally motivated the cadres.
Both JDU National Executive President Sanjay Jha and State President Umesh Kushwaha were prominently in attendance. Kushwaha told the crowd that the election win was the outcome of years of unwavering dedication from thousands of workers, not some lucky accident. He stressed that the party would hold more events like this regularly to raise spirits and attract fresh faces.
Sanjay Jha added that no party can succeed without robust booth‑level operatives. “The JDU’s triumph belongs to your courage and commitment, even when conditions are tough. Your work will go down in history,” he said.
He further noted that CM Nitish Kumar consistently highlights the importance of grassroots members in routine reviews, and that the ceremony underscores this commitment. Leaders also used the opportunity for informal talks about the upcoming elections, expanding the organization, and bolstering the party at the Panchayat level.
The leadership confirmed plans to ramp up organizational efforts in anticipation of the 2026 and 2027 election calendar. A major highlight of the evening was the launch of a new membership drive by CM Nitish Kumar.
He first received a membership card from Sanjay Jha, who then passed it back to the CM. Later, senior figure Narayan Singh and State President Umesh Kushwaha also completed their membership paperwork. The stage saw a memorable moment as leaders queued to accept membership directly from the Chief Minister.
Party insiders pointed out that most political parties set membership terms of one or two years, after which members must renew. Through Saturday’s event, JDU officially kicked off its new membership cycle.
Throughout the proceedings, “Nitish Kumar Zindabad” chants reverberated across the venue. Sanjay Jha also congratulated the Chief Minister on being acknowledged by the World Book of Records, London. A message from the organization highlighted that serving as Chief Minister for ten terms is a rare, historic achievement in democratic governance. It praised Nitish Kumar’s leadership as a source of national pride and lauded his contributions to development, social welfare, and administrative stability. The World Book of Records announced plans to include Nitish Kumar in its global list and to award him an official certificate recognizing his extraordinary accomplishment.
Nitish Kumar recently took oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the record‑setting tenth time, marking a milestone in the country’s political history. ajk/uk
