The team behind the highly anticipated Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Draupathi 2 has wrapped up shooting, bringing fans one step closer to this epic historical action drama. Directed by Mohan G Kshatriyan, the movie stars Richard Rishi in the lead role—he’s the brother-in-law of popular South Indian star Ajith Kumar, which has only added to the buzz.
Shooting kicked off in Mumbai and wrapped successfully during the Ariyallur schedule. Excitement has been building since the makers announced the sequel to the original Draupathi, and the first-look poster really ramped up the hype among Tamil film enthusiasts.
Director Mohan G shared his thoughts on the wrap-up: "No matter how well a director plans, success comes down to the producer’s strong support, especially for tackling logistics. This is Chola Shakkaravarthi’s first production, but his deep passion for cinema and sharp understanding of the craft helped us maintain top-notch quality from start to finish."
Producer Chola Shakkaravarthi, under Netaji Productions in partnership with G.M Film Corporation, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. "Jumping into filmmaking as an entrepreneur, I knew showbiz could be unpredictable. But working with Mohan G and his organized approach blew me away—we finished ahead of schedule. He’s every producer’s dream. Big thanks to Richard Rishi and the entire team for their unwavering support; it’s fired me up to make more films like this."
Rakshana Indusudan takes on the female lead, with Natti Natraj in a key role. The cast also includes Y.G. Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan. Writers Padma Chandrasekhar and Mohan G handled the dialogues, while Ghibran Vaibodha composed the music. Philip R. Sundar led cinematography, Thanika Tony managed choreography, Action Santosh coordinated stunts, Devaraj edited, and Kamalnathan directed the art.
Set in 14th-century South India, Draupathi 2 promises gripping stories, stunning visuals, and a powerhouse cast that will immerse viewers in a grand historical world.
