Erika Kirk tearfully rebukes people who celebrated her husband’s death: ‘You’re sick’

Erika Kirk, widow of the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, blasted anyone who cheered his death as “sick.” She blamed the online world for turning people into “de‑humanized” observers. During a town‑hall conversation with CBS News editor‑in‑chief Bari Weiss, Kirk confronted those who tried to justify the attack, accusing them of watching the murder video in high‑definition and laughing. She emphasized how the event has stripped humanity from people, repeatedly telling those critics that “he’s a human being” and that they should think about a child who will soon be orphaned.

Kirk expressed heartbreak over having to speak about her husband’s tragic end while her 3‑year‑old daughter still lives. She called on anyone who celebrated the killing to reflect on their own conscience and asked God for redemption.

Charlie Kirk, a former college‑focused activist, was fatally shot speaking at a Turning Point USA event on the Utah State University campus in September. His alleged killer, 22‑year‑old Tyler Robinson, faces a murder charge and is due for his first court appearance next Thursday.

The full town‑hall discussion airs on CBS Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
