Assam police have now received the forensic report on the late singer Zubeen Garg. The Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Delhi sent the viscera findings to the police on Friday night. Officers passed the report to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors from GMCH and AIIMS Guwahati will prepare a final assessment. The report will be presented in court and a copy will be sent to Zubeen’s family.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief and Special DGP of the Crime Investigation Department, Munma Prasad Gupta, said the team has already issued notices to 11 Assamese residents living in Singapore. These individuals are being asked to cooperate with the inquiry.

So far, seven suspects have been arrested and statements have been taken from several people. The arrests include the event organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, co‑singer Amritprava Mahanta, cousin and suspended APS officer Sandipan Garg, and two police sub‑inspectors, Nandeswar Bora and Paresh Baishya. The investigation also involves the Gujarat authorities.

The SIT and CID have already requested legal assistance from Singapore authorities through India’s Ministry of Home Affairs. The police will file the chargesheet with the court within the required time frame, the SIT chief said.

Zubeen Garg, who was scheduled to perform at the Northeast India Festival, died in Singapore on 19 September. The case continues to attract national attention as investigators work to uncover the reasons behind the singer’s death.
