Work resumes at Delhi High Court: HC Bar Association President N Hariharan

Delhi High Court Bomb Scare Turns Out to Be Hoax: Operations Resume After Evacuation

A frightening bomb threat disrupted the Delhi High Court on Friday, but it all turned out to be a hoax. The court buildings are now fully sanitized and safe, with work set to restart at 2:30 PM. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief after a tense morning filled with panic and evacuations.

N Hariharan, President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association, shared the good news in a message to lawyers. "The court buildings have been fully sanitised and cleared. All premises are safe, and work resumes at 2:30 PM. We are relieved that the threat turned out to be a hoax and everyone is safe," he said. The Registrar General also confirmed the area is secure, allowing normal functioning to pick up in the afternoon.

The drama began when an anonymous email warned of bombs planted in the judge’s room and court premises. Titled "Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts," the message claimed three explosives were hidden and urged evacuation by 2 PM. It even made wild allegations about Pakistan’s involvement and mentioned a sender email: kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com. The email added fuel to the fire by saying, "The assets within the Police have been sown since 2017, for this Holy Friday. As a sample, today blast in your Delhi High Court will clear the doubt of previous bluffs."

Panic spread quickly across the Delhi High Court complex. All benches rose immediately, and lawyers, litigants, and staff rushed out in chaos. Security teams from Delhi Police, bomb detection squads, and sniffer dog units sprang into action. They cordoned off the area, while fire trucks and ambulances stood ready just in case.

New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Devesh Kumar Mahla told that the police followed standard operating procedure (SOP) to the letter. "Bomb detection teams and dog squad are inside. We have checked it and found it hoax till now," he said. So far, no suspicious items have been found, and the threat appears fake.

Police sources confirmed the email came from an unidentified person, and they’re now investigating to track down the sender. This bomb hoax at Delhi High Court highlights growing concerns over fake threats that cause unnecessary fear and disruption.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the quick response from authorities kept things under control. Court proceedings should be back on track soon, letting justice roll on without further hitches.
