Hockey India announces 33-member core group for senior men’s coaching camp for major international assignments

Hockey India just revealed a 33-player squad for the senior men’s national coaching camp kicking off today at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Center in Bengaluru. The camp runs until October 18, 2025, and it’s all about getting the Indian men’s hockey team ready for some big international challenges ahead.
This training session comes at a perfect time as the team gears up for the 31st Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 in Ipoh, Malaysia, from November 2 to 29. Right after that, they’ll head to South Africa for a tough tour to sharpen their skills even more.
The players are riding high after an impressive unbeaten streak at the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2025 in Rajgir. They clinched the title and earned a straight ticket to the FIH Hockey Men’s World Cup 2026. Now, the focus is on keeping that momentum going, fixing weak spots, and adding more strength to every part of the team.
Indian men’s hockey team chief coach Craig Fulton shared his thoughts before the camp: “Winning the Asia Cup and securing World Cup qualification was an important milestone for us, but it is only the beginning. The players have come back into camp with renewed hunger, and now our focus shifts fully to preparing tactically for the Sultan Azlan Shah tournament. That will be another valuable test before we head straight into South Africa to start World Cup preparations and continue to build towards our bigger goals. Success is not just about results — it’s about how we keep learning, adapting, and growing together as a team.”
