UK train mass stabbing suspect screams ‘kill me, kill me’ as cops arrest him in dramatic video
A man wearing all black was caught on camera in the midst of a criminal scene when, after a 7‑30 p.m. LNER train clamped in Huntingdon, he began to stab passengers on a London‑bound carriage. The suspect, who had boarded the train in Peterborough, shouted “kill me, kill me” as officers converged on him.
Police officers and a duty dog quickly surrounded the attacker. The man was struck with a Taser and forced to drop the knife before being restrained and taken to the station squad car. His arrest has led to the suspect’s detention on an attempted murder charge.
Over a dozen people were hurt in the attack. Eleven were taken to hospital, two of them in critical condition, and one train staff member was badly wounded while trying to stop the attacker. Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy praised the rail staff employee for his heroic actions, saying the employee’s quick response saved lives.
Passengers were not passive observers. A group of travelers used Jack Daniels bottles and belts to try to hold the knife in place, while several other passengers improvised tourniquets to help the wounded.
Fans of Premier League side Nottingham Forest, who were heading home from a game, also stepped forward to assist and have been described as “extraordinary brave.” Owner Evangelos Marinakis has said the club will help any supporter in need of financial assistance for medical care.
The suspect is believed to be a 32‑year‑old British‑born man who is still in custody. No motive has been disclosed. The LNER train, part of the London North Eastern Railway network, was halted at Huntingdon after the train made an unscheduled stop early at the 12:32 p.m. call. Police and ambulance crews arrived within minutes of the first calls.
Survivors have spoken of the fear they felt as the attacker slashed the carriage. One woman said that after pleading with him not to kill her, the attacker just kept on. Another survivor noted that the attacker spoke about “the devil’s not going to win” before continuing his rampage.
Local police are still investigating the case and are urging anyone with more information to come forward. The city remains on high alert after the attack, and the LNER has updated its safety protocols for all upcoming services.
