Tucker Genal, the TikTok personality who had amassed more than 2.5 million followers, tragically passed away on Thursday at the age of 31. Family reports and the Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirm that the 31‑year‑old died by suicide, having hung himself in his California home.
The loss has devastated his close brothers, Carson and Connor Genal, who publicly shared the news on Instagram early Monday. In their heartfelt post, Carson reflected on his brother’s impact, writing: “I don’t even know where to begin, You were my best friend and an even better big brother, my entire life, I’ve spent looking up to you and trying to follow in your footsteps because you were always my hero.”
He added that he will carry Tucker’s memory forward, calling him “the kindest person I’ve ever met and the greatest brother that anyone could have ever asked for.” Both brothers requested privacy as they grieve.
Fans and friends have flooded social media with tributes, reminding others of Tucker’s uplifting presence. One fan, Sean Schutt, posted on Instagram, “Tucker… idk where to start… you were my best friend in the whole world.
5 years ago I was in the deepest darkest place in my life and didn’t think there was a way out.” Schutt went on to say, “Tucker you gave me my motivation you brought a light in me that I never even knew I had. You are the kindest most selfless person I knew.”
Beyond his online fame, Genal was a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, SC, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2018 and played wide receiver on the football team.
