UP Yoddhas Eye Big Win Against Struggling Bengal Warriorz in Pro Kabaddi League Clash
Jaipur is buzzing with excitement as the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) heats up. On September 16, the UP Yoddhas face off against the Bengal Warriorz at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium. The Yoddhas are hungry for a crucial victory to bounce back and recapture their early-season magic.
Despite some tough recent matches, UP Yoddhas have plenty of reasons to stay confident. Their defense remains rock-solid, and their raiders have been firing on all cylinders lately. Leading the charge is the explosive Gagan Gowda, who’s racked up 62 raid points in just five games. That puts him fifth on the top raiders list for PKL Season 11. Gowda’s speed and smarts have made him a standout, with four super raids—the most in the league—and an equal number of Super 10s. He averages a whopping 12.4 raid points per match, proving why he’s one of the league’s most dangerous players.
Gowda isn’t alone in the attack. Guman Singh has chipped in with 19 points, stepping up big in clutch moments across several games. Bhavani Rajput adds firepower with 14 points, giving the Yoddhas a balanced and versatile raiding unit. On the defensive end, captain Sumit Sangwan shines brightest, averaging 3.8 tackle points per game—the highest in the entire Pro Kabaddi League. Overall, UP averages 21.4 raid points per match, ranking fifth in the league and showing their offensive edge.
Assistant coach Upendra Malik shared his thoughts ahead of the match: "Every team is on fire this season. We’ve had close calls where things could have gone our way, but we need to minimize errors. Our defense and raiders must work together seamlessly. In key moments, we have to stay sharp and make the most of them. Gagan’s been unstoppable, and the rest of the squad will step up to deliver even better results."
Meanwhile, the Bengal Warriorz are in a rough patch. After a stunning opening win against defending champions Haryana Steelers, they’ve lost their last four games straight. This slump gives the UP Yoddhas a golden chance to pounce and regain momentum in the Pro Kabaddi League standings.
Kabaddi fans, don’t miss this thrilling PKL matchup—it’s set to be a high-energy battle of raids and tackles!
