Union Home Minister Amit Shah assures all necessary help to flood-affected farmers of Maharashtra

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, told farmers and officials in Ahilyanagar that the central government will step in to help Maharashtra farmers who lost crops after heavy rains. He said he made sure the Prime Minister’s office had a full report from the state so that aid can move quickly.

The meeting, which took place as the new 10‑th‑generation sugar plant at Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Cooperative Sugar Factory opened, was a chance for the Home Minister to reassure the community. He announced that members of the National Democratic Alliance – MLA Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ashok Pawar – have each donated one month’s salary to a relief fund for farmers.

“Modi ji guarantees we’ll not let farmers wait for help,” Shah said. “The NDA members’ donation shows how the state government cares about its people.”

He also highlighted other measures the Maharashtra government has introduced to support farmers, such as new subsidies and emergency grain supplies.

During his trip, Shah pointed out that the recent renaming of Ahmednagar to Ahilyanagar and Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar were achievements of the BJP‑Sena government. He said these names honor local heritage and celebrated the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Ahilyabai Holkar.

The minister also visited the Shirid Sai Dham, emphasizing his engagement with local communities across the state.
