In New Delhi on December 26, BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda marked the anniversary of Veer Bal Diwas by visiting Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Chandni Chowk. He offered prayers and praised the Guru‑led sacrifice that underpins Sikhism, calling Sikhs the nation’s “foremost sentinels.”
Assisting him were Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, municipal councillor Suman Kumar Gupta, district president Arvind Garg, and senior BJP leaders Sardar Kuldeep Singh and Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa. All of them joined in the ceremony at the gurdwara.
Earlier in the day, BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin visited Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, another important Sikh temple, to pray in observance of the community’s Shaheedi Month. Alongside him were Delhi BJP chief Sachdeva, environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and media co‑convener Sanjay Mayukh.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also took part in the day’s commemorations. Speaking on X, the Home Minister highlighted Guru Gobind Singh’s young devotees’ bravery as a rare historical example of faith and patriotism. He said the values imparted to the Sahibzadas by Mata Gujri and Guru Gobind Singh “could not be shaken even by the inhumane torture of cruel oppressors.” Shah noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Veer Bal Diwas observance to keep that story alive for future generations.
On Friday a program was held at Thyagaraj Stadium, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas. A laser and light show at Purana Qila brought the Sahibzadas’ heroic saga to life, combining visual spectacle and music. The chief minister said such displays provide an emotionally resonant way to share history with younger audiences, and that Veer Bal Diwas represents “a collective resolve to instil the values of courage, self‑respect, patriotism and moral fortitude in the coming generations.”
The event drew Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, senior officials, schoolchildren, and many citizens. A booklet on the Sahibzadas and a commemorative postal cover—released jointly with the Department of Posts—were unveiled during the ceremony.
