The rally kicked off with the Director Recruiting for North East States flagging it off, joined by senior Army officers and local dignitaries who cheered on the participants. Lt Col Rawat emphasized that the entire process stayed transparent and fair, giving every eligible candidate an equal shot. Thanks to strong support from civil administration and local military teams, everything ran smoothly without a hitch.
The final merit list for successful Agniveer recruits will come out soon, once all stages wrap up. The Indian Army thanked the people and officials of Arunachal Pradesh for their warm cooperation and gave a big shoutout to all the determined youth who took part.
Annual Chandan Tree Worship in Arunachal Pradesh Highlights Cultural Heritage and Army Support
In a beautiful blend of tradition and community spirit, locals in Arunachal Pradesh’s Shi-Yomi district celebrated the annual worship of a 500-year-old Chandan tree on Sunday. Nestled in the scenic Lhalung village of Menchuka Valley, this sacred event draws the local Buddhist community, who see the tree as a powerful symbol of faith and the region’s rich heritage.
Monks from nearby monasteries led the prayers, with devotees lighting lamps and performing rituals for peace, prosperity, and well-being. Village elders shared captivating legends and stories about the tree, helping pass down cultural knowledge to the younger generation and keeping spiritual traditions alive.
Indian Army troops stepped in to help organize the event, ensuring smooth arrangements for everyone. Beyond the ceremony, the Army actively maintains the site year-round—through cleanliness drives, pathway upkeep, and preservation efforts—to protect this ancient heritage spot.
Lt Col Rawat noted how this involvement shows the deep bond between the armed forces and Arunachal Pradesh locals. Such events not only preserve religious and cultural practices but also boost civil-military harmony in remote border areas. The gathering ended with a heartfelt collective prayer for unity and prosperity in the valley.
This timeless ritual reminds us of Arunachal Pradesh’s spiritual depth and the shared dedication of the community and the Army to safeguard it for years to come.
