JP Nadda Slams RJD and Tejashwi Yadav in Patna Speech
Patna, Bihar: In a fiery speech at a BJP conclave in Patna on Saturday, Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda took strong digs at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Bihar’s Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav. Speaking ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Nadda questioned if Tejashwi ever said sorry for his father Lalu Prasad Yadav’s controversial remarks on road development.
Nadda recalled Lalu’s old statement that building roads would just help police reach trouble spots faster. "In the name of development, Lalu Yadav said if we build roads, police will get to you quickly. So many years later, I ask Tejashwi Yadav—did you ever apologize to Bihar’s people?" Nadda said to the cheering crowd.
He slammed this mindset as anti-progress. "How can they think like this and still claim to do good for Bihar?" Nadda added in Hindi. He painted a grim picture of Bihar under RJD rule, calling it a time of "Jungle Raj" filled with appeasement and casteism. "Bihar once led the nation with sharp political views, but selfish politics and wrong leadership pushed it into darkness," he said. Nadda urged people not to forget the chaos of those days.
But Nadda highlighted the turnaround under the NDA government. "Thanks to PM Narendra Modi and CM Nitish Kumar’s work over the last 20 years, Bihar looks changed today. People now want real development and stability," he said, boosting the NDA’s Bihar election campaign.
Nadda didn’t spare the Congress either. He accused the opposition of sinking to new lows in politics, pointing to an AI-generated video they shared. The video allegedly showed PM Modi dreaming of his late mother Heeraben Modi scolding him over his politics. "Our opposition has dragged politics to the gutters. They abused the PM’s mother, and no one has apologized yet. That Congress video proves their true character," Nadda fumed.
These sharp attacks come as Bihar gears up for Assembly elections, likely in October or November. The Election Commission of India hasn’t announced dates yet, but the battle lines are clear. The NDA alliance—BJP, JD(U), and LJP—wants to hold power under Nitish Kumar. They currently have 131 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly: BJP with 80 MLAs, JD(U) with 45, HAM(S) with 4, plus support from 2 Independents.
On the other side, the INDIA bloc—RJD, Congress, and left parties—aims to topple the NDA. They hold 111 seats, led by RJD’s 77 MLAs, Congress with 19, CPI(ML) with 11, CPI(M) with 2, and CPI with 2.
With Bihar elections heating up, Nadda’s speech sets the tone for a fierce NDA vs INDIA showdown focused on development, past failures, and political ethics.
