Mahima Makwana, the rising star from hits like “Antim” and “Showtime,” just wrapped up shooting her latest film in Kerala—and she’s sharing all the fun (and a close call) on Instagram.
The actress posted a bunch of vibrant photos and videos, captioning them: “We wrapped a film, spotted bunch of’s, almost broke a bone, fell in love with the place and the people. Kerala, you beauty.” You can see her beaming in joyful poses against Kerala’s lush green backdrops, plus a sweet behind-the-scenes snap from the makeup room where her hairstylist tweaks her look. She also shared clips of the area’s stunning trees, rolling hills, and wildlife, making fans swoon over the tropical vibes.
Mahima kept the project details under wraps, but her excitement shines through. Kerala clearly stole her heart during the shoot.
Fans know Mahima Makwana from her strong TV roots. She kicked off her acting career with the show “Mohe Rang De” and popped up in popular series like “CID,” “Aahat,” “Miley Jab Hum Tum,” “Sawaare Sabke Sapne… Preeto,” and “Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane.” She really broke out in 2012’s “Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke,” playing Rachana alongside Roopal’s Gunjan in a story about two teens tackling growing up.
Jumping to films, Mahima made her debut in the 2017 Telugu movie “Venkatapuram,” followed by the techno-thriller “Mosagallu.” In 2021, she joined the high-octane “Antim: The Final Truth,” directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and starring Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma, and Jisshu Sengupta. This year, she lit up the screen as Mahika Nandy in the Dharma Productions series “Showtime,” sharing scenes with legends Naseeruddin Shah and Emraan Hashmi.
Reflecting on working with Naseeruddin Shah, Mahima once opened up about her nerves: “I was really nervous facing Naseeruddin sir because he is a legend and I went blank that day. We had a five-pager scene and the moment he entered on set, I remember, I was super anxious—I was in literal tears out of being overwhelmed.” Moments like that show just how far she’s come in Bollywood and beyond.
