Andhra Pradesh to leverage long coastline for $2.4 trillion economy by 2047

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu shared big plans Tuesday to boost the state’s economy to a whopping $2.4 trillion by 2047. Speaking at a launch event in Delhi for the upcoming 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14-15, Naidu highlighted how the state will make the most of its 1,000 km coastline. The government aims to build ports or harbors every 50 km to supercharge trade and logistics.

Naidu invited global business leaders to the summit, pointing out Andhra Pradesh’s key strengths: that long coastline, business-friendly policies, and a young workforce skilled in technology. “We’re ready to partner with you for fast growth,” he said.

Under the Swarnandhra Vision 2047, the state is zeroing in on hot sectors like logistics, deep tech, product innovation, and hubs for space, electronics, drones, and aerospace. In Amaravati, a new Quantum Valley is in the works, complete with a quantum computer up and running by January 2026. Full production there could kick off just two years later, putting Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of quantum technology.

Naidu gave a shoutout to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him the perfect leader for India’s booming industrial push. He noted Modi’s national goal of 500 GW in renewable energy, while Andhra Pradesh targets 160 GW. With its solid farming and aquaculture sectors, the state plans to roll out large-scale advanced food processing units to create jobs and exports.

Already ranked number one for ease of doing business in India, Andhra Pradesh now wants to amp up the “speed of doing business,” Naidu emphasized. He promised supportive policies and full teamwork to help investors thrive and drive economic expansion.

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who also spoke at the event, hailed Naidu as a reform champion who’s changed lives through smart policies. Goyal praised Naidu’s focus on high-tech solutions and the development of plug-and-play industrial facilities in three major hubs: Visakhapatnam, Orvakallu, and Kopparthi. He added that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will act as a key bridge, connecting global investors to opportunities in Andhra Pradesh for shared economic wins.
