PKL 12: Ayan Lohchab leads charge as Patna Pirates beat Puneri Paltan for first win of season

Patna Pirates Crush Puneri Paltan in Thrilling Pro Kabaddi League Match
In a stunning turnaround, the Patna Pirates grabbed their first win of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 with a commanding 48-37 victory over table-toppers Puneri Paltan. The match unfolded at Vishwanadh Sports Club in Visakhapatnam on Monday, and it was young star raider Ayan Lohchab who stole the show, racking up a massive 21 points to end his team’s three-match losing streak.
Right from the start, Patna Pirates fired on all cylinders. Ayan Lohchab kicked things off with a brilliant Super Raid, taking out Gurdeep, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Aditya Shinde in one go. He quickly followed it up by nabbing Gaurav Khatri too. Puneri Paltan’s raiders Aslam Inamdar and Abinesh Nadarajan struggled, leading to the first All Out in no time. By the end of the first half’s timeout, Patna led 15-4, leaving fans buzzing about this Pro Kabaddi League upset.
The dominance continued as skipper Ankit Jayant made a key tackle on Pankaj Mohite, and Deepak Davinder added to the pressure by stopping Aditya Shinde again. Deepak then sealed the second All Out with a tackle on Gaurav Khatri, pushing Patna’s lead even further. Ayan hit his Super 10 by tackling Aslam once more, finishing the first half with 13 points. The scoreboard read 27-10 at halftime – a real shocker for the usually unbeatable Puneri Paltan.
Coming into the second half, Patna didn’t let up. Ayan scored two quick points by getting Aslam Inamdar and Milad Mohajer, triggering the third All Out early on. Puneri Paltan shuffled their lineup, but it barely made a dent. Milan Dahiya stepped up for the Pirates, pulling off back-to-back raids to dismiss Abinesh Nadarajan and Vaibhav Garande. While Aditya Shinde managed some raids for Paltan, Patna’s 20-point lead at the second timeout (39-19) showed who was in control.
With such a huge buffer, Patna could afford a slip-up. Sure enough, an All Out hit them in the 8th minute of the second half after Abhishek Gunge tackled Ankit. Ayan finally faced a failed raid due to a small mistake, and Puneri’s Milad Mohajer and Sachin Tanwar fought back with some points. But a late second All Out on Patna came too little, too late. Ayan’s incredible one-man effort, backed by solid contributions from Ankit, Milan, Deepak Davinder, and Navdeep Singh, sealed an 11-point win for the Pirates in this high-stakes Pro Kabaddi League clash.
This victory boosts Patna Pirates’ morale as they eye more points in Season 12, while Puneri Paltan will look to bounce back from this rare defeat. Kabaddi fans, what a night in Visakhapatnam!
