President Droupadi Murmu will head to Kerala for a four‑day trip that mixes spirituality, history and education. Her visit, from October 21 to 24, kicks off in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram.
On the evening of the 21st, the president arrives and settles into her official itinerary. The next day, she heads to the iconic Sabarimala Temple. There she will participate in Darshan and Aarti alongside thousands of pilgrims, joining one of India’s biggest spiritual pilgrimages.
October 23 sees a mix of tributes and celebrations. First, President Murmu will unveil a bust of former President K. R. Narayanan at Raj Bhavan. The honour highlights Narayanan’s legacy as India’s first Dalit president and a proud son of Kerala. Later, the president will open the Mahasamadhi Centenary ceremony for Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Mutt in Varkala. The event marks 100 years since the beloved social reformer’s passing and remembers his teachings on equality and education.
She will also attend the final ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee of St. Thomas College in Palai. The college is celebrating 75 years of academic service, and the president’s presence underscores the institution’s role in Kerala’s higher‑education scene.
On the final day, October 24, the president will visit the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa’s College in Ernakulam. The college, known for empowering women through education, marks 100 years of excellence in the company of India’s chief constitutional head.
President Murmu’s Kerala tour showcases the state’s cultural, educational, and spiritual richness. It also pays tribute to key figures who have shaped India’s social and political history, while welcoming the president with the state’s warm hospitality and pride.
