In Jogulamba Gadwal, Telangana, BRS working president KT Rama Rao fired sharp criticism at the Congress government during a massive public rally on Saturday. The event, called Gadwala Garjana Sabha, drew huge crowds despite heavy rains, showing strong support for BRS in the region.
KTR directly challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying, “If Revanth Reddy has the guts, make the ten MLAs who defected to Congress resign and face by-elections.” He accused these MLAs of betraying public trust just to boost their personal wealth. “These defectors can’t even pick a side—they switched for selfish gains. The Supreme Court is watching closely, and by-elections in their constituencies are unavoidable. People will give them a real lesson,” KTR declared confidently.
The rally turned even more exciting as many local Congress leaders, councillors, former sarpanches, and public reps switched to BRS right there. KTR welcomed them warmly, draping pink scarves—the BRS signature color—over their shoulders.
Grateful for the turnout in the rain, KTR highlighted Gadwal’s key role in the Telangana movement. “With Goddess Jogulamba’s blessings, we turned Gadwal into a district headquarters and brought a medical college here. We finished the Thummilla project, irrigating 18.50 lakh acres in united Palamuru district. But Congress stalled the Gattu project for 22 months,” he pointed out.
KTR saved his strongest words for Gadwal MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, who defected to Congress. “Krishna Mohan Reddy claims he joined for development, but where’s the Congress promise of Rs 2,500 monthly aid for girls? What about the Rs 2 lakh farm loan waiver, scooters for young women, Rs 20 lakh Dalit Bandhu scheme, or 42% BC reservations?” KTR asked, listing unfulfilled pledges one by one.
He mocked Reddy’s flip-flop: “It’s embarrassing—he still pretends to be with BRS while cozying up to Revanth Reddy. He once swore he’d never join Congress and even said he’d lay his head on railway tracks if forced. So why skip this meeting? This is pure deception.” KTR also slammed Congress for black-market urea sales and selling Group-1 jobs, calling it a betrayal of voters’ faith.
Zooming out, KTR slammed the Congress government’s two-year record. “Farmers face urea shortages and power cuts again. During COVID, KCR kept Rythu Bandhu going and rolled out welfare schemes. Congress got Telangana on a silver platter but wrecked it—from auto drivers to jobless youth, everyone suffers. Education and welfare are in shambles; just check the state of Gurukul schools now,” he said passionately.
KTR rallied the crowd for action: “By-elections will show who’s truly strong. But first, in the local body elections, let’s crush Congress and raise the pink flag over Gadwal Municipality!” The speech energized supporters, underscoring BRS’s push against Congress failures in Telangana politics.
