A man in Karachi’s Qayyumabad neighborhood has confessed to sexually assaulting multiple young girls over the past eight years. The shocking admission came during a court appearance on Saturday, where he detailed his crimes against minors as young as five.
Police arrested the suspect earlier this month after reports of child abuse flooded in. According to South Senior Superintendent of Police Mehroze Ali, three separate cases emerged in just one week, highlighting a pattern of sexual assault in the area. So far, authorities have filed six cases against him, with four victims already giving statements following an identification parade.
The man, who moved to Karachi from Abbottabad in 2011, started selling juice from a cart in Qayyumabad in 2016—the same year he began targeting girls aged five to twelve. Investigators say he lured them with small amounts of money, then took them to a nearby rented room or shop to carry out the assaults.
In a key break in the case, police recovered more than 100 videos of the attacks from his phone, along with a USB drive containing additional footage and a diary listing potential victims. A brave young girl reportedly stole the USB from his room, which helped lead to his capture.
During the court session in Karachi South, the magistrate recorded his confession under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. When asked if he understood the setting, the suspect replied, “Yes, I’m in court to give my statement.” The judge then ordered him held on judicial remand in jail.
Karachi police continue investigating to identify more victims and analyze the digital evidence. This case underscores the ongoing fight against child sexual assault in Pakistan, with authorities urging anyone affected to come forward.
