Mumbai’s buzzing tech scene just got even more exciting! The India Mobile Congress (IMC), a major forum for digital innovation, has announced its first-ever Startup World Cup India. This event gives Indian startups a shot at global fame, letting them pitch bold ideas for a chance to battle it out in the $1 million finale in San Francisco, USA.
Kicking off from October 8 to 11 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi, the competition is part of IMC’s Aspire programme. More than 300 startups have already thrown their hats in the ring, and organizers will pick the top 15 to present to a powerhouse jury of venture capitalists, successful entrepreneurs, and top policy makers.
“We’re thrilled to launch the Startup World Cup as a highlight of this year’s Aspire initiative,” the official statement shared. “It fits perfectly with IMC’s mission to position India as a powerhouse in deep-tech and digital innovation.” Ramakrishna P., CEO of India Mobile Congress, added, “IMC 2025 isn’t just about pitching—it’s about building real pathways for Indian startups to go global and scale big.”
This marks the third edition of IMC Aspire, which launched in 2023. It aims to link over 500 startups with 300 investors, accelerators, and venture funds. The full four-day IMC 2025 extravaganza expects to pull in more than 1.5 lakh visitors from over 150 countries, feature 400 exhibitors, and bring 800 speakers for 100 packed sessions. Topics on deck include next-gen connectivity, electronics manufacturing, AI-driven solutions, IoT, and cutting-edge tech trends.
India’s innovation game is stronger than ever. The country has climbed from 81st to 39th in the Global Innovation Index over the past decade. Plus, the economy roared ahead with 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter of FY 2025-26, up from 6.5% last year. If you’re into startups, tech innovation, or India’s digital boom, this is one event you won’t want to miss!
