Formula 1: Racing Bulls condemn employee video after boos directed at Lando Norris following Brazil GP win

In New Delhi on November 12, Racing Bulls said it was “shocked and disappointed” after a video emerged showing one of its crew members giving a thumbs‑down at Lando Norris’s podium win in the Brazil Grand Prix.
The clip shows Norris, who now leads the Formula One championship by 24 points after his second straight victory in São Paulo, being met with a handful of boos while he lifts his trophy. The same boos were heard earlier in Mexico a week ago, where Norris was the target of a small wave of jeering fans.
Racing Bulls released a statement that afternoon clarifying that the video “doesn’t reflect our team’s values or the spirit of VCARB.” The team said it has dealt with the matter internally and stressed that it stands for respect among drivers, teams and fans.
For Norris, the treatment has made headlines after he took the checkered flag in Brazil. He replied on Twitter that the boos are “just noise,” adding, “focus on yourself” and that he will keep pushing hard to stay ahead in the title race. The 25‑year‑old Briton has expressed that the negative reaction is part of racing, but he prefers cheers over jeers.
The booing started in Mexico when some spectators questioned McLaren’s team strategy, especially its perceived favor toward Norris over teammate Oscar Piastri. Norris said he is confused by the reaction, and that “people can do what they want—sport takes that.” He defended McLaren’s strategy by pointing out times he has supported Piastri, and that his own win in Monza was earned.
The incident highlights the growing trend of fan‑led booing in Formula One. Racing Bulls has made clear it does not support that behaviour and hopes all celebrations remain positive and respectful.
