Union Minister and Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia stopped by the Bageshwar Dham in Shivpuri district on Thursday, where he met the temple’s chief priest, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, and received his blessings during a religious talk.
During the sermon, Scindia announced that a 108‑foot statue of Lord Shiva will be erected in Shivpuri, which he represents in Parliament.
Later on X, he shared that his meeting with Shastri gave him “profound peace” and that the priest’s blessings motivated him toward service and devotion.
Shastri, who launched a ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Katha’ that same day, urged reporters to include the Bhagavad Gita and the Ramayana in the national school curriculum. He also warned Hindu families against letting their children over‑indulge in social media, calling it “social jihad.”
The head priest added that every Hindu household should have at least four children, saying, “If others can have thirty children, why can’t Hindus have four? We will not let this country become Ghazwa‑e‑Hind.”
When asked about his recent multi‑state Pad Yatra, Shastri clarified that its purpose was to foster Hindu unity and uphold Sanatan Dharma, not to pursue politics. “There is no need for a padyatra to enter politics,” he stated.
