PM Modi Gets Birthday Call from Russia’s Vladimir Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a special birthday surprise on Wednesday when Russian President Vladimir Putin called him up to wish him on turning 75. The two leaders chatted about key issues in India-Russia relations, as shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
In a warm phone conversation, Putin extended his heartfelt birthday greetings to PM Modi. Modi thanked him sincerely and highlighted the strong bond of friendship between India and Russia. This call comes just ahead of the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit, where the leaders reviewed their bilateral agenda.
PM Modi also expressed his excitement about hosting Putin in India later this year. On the Ukraine conflict, Modi reaffirmed India’s full support for a peaceful resolution. Both leaders agreed to stay in close touch moving forward.
Birthday wishes for PM Modi have flooded in from around the world and across India. In a touching post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi shared his gratitude for the overwhelming love and support. "The innumerable wishes and the faith you have reposed in me are a source of great strength.
