Transgender accomplice, 43, busted with ‘Slender Man’ stabber Morgan Geyser says ‘she ran because of me’

In a bizarre twist, a transgender man who was arrested for helping a “Slender Man” stabber escape claimed that the younger victim ran because of him. The 43‑year‑old, known as Chad “Charly” Mecca, was found alongside the 23‑year‑old escapee at a truck stop in Posen, Illinois, about a day after the fighter fled her care home more than 150 miles away in Wisconsin.

Photographs of Mecca show him with disheveled blue hair and a low‑cut pink top, and he spoke on local TV for WKOW, taking full responsibility for the escape. The authorities cited him for criminal trespassing and obstructing identification.

During the interview, Mecca insisted that his friend had left the group home because she was being prohibited from visiting him. He recalled a phone call where she sobbed, pleading that “they’ll take away our visitation. Charly, please… you’re my best friend.”

He went on to say that the attacker’s escape was “already made clear if I didn’t go, whether or not she was still going, and she was not going back to jail. And I know what that means.” Ultimately, he said he followed what he thought was right and stands by his decision.

Police reports suggest the pair were heading toward Nashville, Tennessee, after having met in a church in Madison, Wisconsin.
