AAP Slams Rahul Gandhi’s Foreign Trip Amid North India Flood Crisis
In the midst of devastating floods hitting North India, especially Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is calling out Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for being absent. He’s currently on a foreign tour while people back home struggle with the disaster.
AAP’s media in-charge, Anurag Dhanda, didn’t hold back. He criticized both Congress and the BJP-led central government for leaving flood-affected states in the lurch. "Whenever the country faces a crisis, Rahul Gandhi just disappears abroad. How does this help the flood victims? He’s quick to campaign for votes, but vanishes when things get tough," Dhanda said sharply.
Dhanda also pointed fingers at the central government’s silence on Punjab’s flood woes. "Punjab is battling a massive flood situation, but the Centre hasn’t announced any compensation or released the Rs 60,000 crore in pending dues to the state," he added. He urged the government to act fast by releasing a relief package for all flood-hit areas and clearing Punjab’s financial backlog. This would let the state support its people in rebuilding after the natural disaster.
The AAP leader even questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to Punjab on September 9. "Will the PM finally release Punjab’s pending funds? So far, he hasn’t said a word about the floods or offered even a single rupee in aid. AAP is the only party stepping up to rebuild Punjab right now," Dhanda remarked.
These floods in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have caused widespread destruction. They’ve wrecked homes, ruined crops, and damaged roads and bridges. Thousands of people have lost their homes, and millions worry about their jobs and daily lives.
Dhanda accused both Congress and BJP of failing the public. "Big parties like BJP and Congress always go missing during crises. Their leaders aren’t there when people need them the most," he said. As the flood crisis in North India continues, AAP pushes for quick action to help the victims recover.
