In Jaipur on Nov. 10, the Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Kota made a big arrest in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district.
Broker Akram Hussain was taken into custody after police uncovered a bribery scheme that involved Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) Inspector Hitesh Kumar.

The scheme began when a complainant told the ACB that Inspector Kumar and his crew demanded a Rs 3 lakh bribe. The payment was meant to protect the complainant’s father from being accused in a false marijuana case. The ACB traced the allegation through recorded phone calls and decided to set a trap.

On Sunday at about 9:30 p.m., the complainant walked into Inspector Kumar’s Bhawanimandi office with Rs 30,000 in real money and Rs 2.70 lakh in fake notes. ACB officers, waiting in the building, swooped in and arrested Akram Hussain while he was receiving Rs 20,000 in cash. Inspector Kumar, however, fled the scene with part of the bribe purse.

When the inspector ran away, he dropped a bundle 100 meters from the office. The recovered bag contained Rs 20,000 of genuine currency and Rs 80,000 of dummy notes. Investigators now believe that Hitesh still holds another Rs 2 lakh, including Rs 1.90 lakh in fake bills and Rs 10,000 in real money.

ACB officials are on a full‑scale search for the missing inspector. Additional Superintendent of Police Mukul Sharma said the bureau will take strict action against everyone involved in the bribery and extortion plot. ACB Director General Govind Gupta confirmed that the complaint was filed after the inspector and an accomplice allegedly abducted the complainant’s father on November 7 and demanded the bribe to keep him out of a false drug case.

The case highlights ongoing corruption crackdowns in Rajasthan and shows the ACB’s commitment to holding corrupt officials accountable. Keywords such as “anti‑corruption bureau,” “CBN inspector bribery,” “Akram Hussain,” and “Rajasthan corruption” are surfacing as authorities press on this investigation.
