The Anti‑Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) announced Monday that it pulled off a major drug bust in Delhi, taking down two repeat offenders and seizing more than 1.5 kg of heroin. The seized drugs could fetch several crores on the international market, the police said.
The raid began with a confidential tip that the ANTF shared with senior officers. A sweep was carried out near Swaroop Nagar Extension and Bhalswa Dairy, where the team caught Inzamam‑Ul‑Haq on a motorcycle just as he was about to deliver a drug load. The police tied him up and recovered 1,259 grams of heroin from his possession.
An FIR—No. 229/2025—was filed under sections 21 and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators discovered that Inzamam has a history of violent crime and illegal liquor trafficking in the Jahangirpuri and Mahendra Park areas. He told officers that he worked with a supplier named Babu Khan, who is a known criminal in Jahangirpuri and has faced charges ranging from attempted murder to arms violations.
Babu Khan, also called Shahidul, was tracked and arrested just before delivering a large heroin shipment. He had recently been released on bail from an NDPS case and immediately resumed drug supply in Delhi.
In a related operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police seized 4.03 kg of heroin and two pistols from six operatives linked to cross‑border smuggling. The Director General of Punjab Police confirmed that the suspects were coordinated with a Pakistan‑based handler via social media and were using drones to move drugs and weapons into Khemkaran and Ferozpur. This crackdown is part of a broader effort to dismantle a major narcotics and arms network in Punjab and Delhi.
