Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set for an action-packed visit to Assam this weekend. On Sunday, he’ll kick things off with a grand roadshow in Guwahati before joining the vibrant celebrations for the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. This cultural icon’s timeless music continues to touch hearts across generations, with his songs translated into languages like Hindi and Bangla.

Assam Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass shared exciting details with . "The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth a whopping Rs 18,000 crore," he said. The highlight? PM Modi’s attendance at the birth centenary event for Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, the legendary singer, lyricist, and composer who’s a true pride of Assam.

Picture this: Around 5 pm at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, Guwahati, nearly 1,200 artists will perform Dr. Hazarika’s iconic songs right in front of PM Modi. He’ll also address the crowd, celebrating the maestro’s rich cultural legacy that defines modern Assam.

Security is top-notch in Guwahati with the PM’s arrival. Agencies and local authorities have stationed personnel at key spots, and traffic curbs are in place to keep everything smooth during the events.

But the visit doesn’t stop there. On Monday, September 14, PM Modi heads to Darrang district. He’ll launch projects worth over Rs 3,600 crore, including the Darrang Medical College and Hospital, a GNM School, and a nursing college. Expect foundation stones for key road and infrastructure works too, followed by a public rally at 11 am.

Later, he’ll visit Numaligarh in Golaghat district to inaugurate the Assam Bio-ethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). This green initiative promotes clean energy, slashes carbon emissions, and cuts reliance on fossil fuels. Plus, he’ll lay the foundation for the Polypropylene Plant at NRL—a game-changer for Assam’s petrochemical industry and overall growth.

These developments promise a big boost for Assam. From better connectivity and healthcare to stronger industries and eco-friendly energy, they’ll create jobs and uplift lives. PM Modi’s Assam tour is all about progress and honoring cultural heroes!
