In Kolkata, the highlight kicks off with a special exhibition at the Indian Museum, showcasing the life and works of PM Modi. State BJP President Sukanta Majumdar will inaugurate it on September 16, and it runs until September 21. This exhibition dives into Modi’s story, from his humble beginnings to his historic third term as India’s leader.
Party leaders say charity drives will light up the celebrations too. Expect blood donation camps, health check-ups, and eye camps in various districts. BJP workers will distribute fruits and mosquito nets to those in need, while the party’s fishery cell organizes a coastline cleaning drive in West Bengal. At the state BJP office in Kolkata, they’ll hand out sweets to supporters and workers for a sweet touch.
To add some excitement, the Narendra Cup football tournament final happens on Wednesday, bringing sports fans into the birthday festivities.
Shatarupa, a member of the Bengal BJP’s state executive committee, shared with us, “Every year, we organize charity events for PM Modi’s birthday. This time, it’s extra special as he turns 75. The exhibition at the Indian Museum will spotlight his inspiring life and achievements.”
Born on September 17, 1950, in a small Gujarat town, PM Modi made history on June 9, 2024, by swearing in for his third consecutive term. He’s the first non-Congress leader—and only the second after Jawaharlal Nehru—to pull off this feat.
BJP leader and actor Rudranil Ghosh praised Modi’s leadership, saying, “Happy 75th birthday to PM Narendra Modi! Past prime ministers did great work, but Modi has delivered on their unfinished promises, especially for underprivileged and tribal communities. His projects truly empower people, and we’re seeing the real impact today.”
