The Bihar Police Crime Investigation Department (CID) has now taken full control of the murder case of Dularchand Yadav, a key political figure from Mokama. CID detective‑inspector‑general Jayant Kant led a visit to the crime scene, examining every corner of the site.
On Saturday, teams from the CID and forensic lab specialists arrived at Basawan Chak, where the killing took place. They collected forensic samples from the damaged vehicles that were involved and examined the site for clues that could point to the attackers.
A major discovery was a pile of stones that are normally used on railway tracks. These stones do not naturally occur in Mokama Taal, raising new questions about whether the attack was planned. All samples have been sent to the forensics lab for testing.
Investigators are also questioning local residents, reviewing CCTV footage, and analyzing mobile phone location data to detect any suspicious activity before or after the incident. The goal is to build a clear picture of what happened and who is responsible.
Dularchand Yadav was attacked on Thursday while campaigning for Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi. The initial focus was on a gunshot wound, but an autopsy carried out by a three‑doctor panel in Barh revealed that the fatal injury came from a vehicle running over him, causing multiple fractures and a ruptured lung. The shooting to the leg did not cause his death.
With CID now leading the investigation, authorities expect to uncover the full conspiracy behind Yadav’s death soon. The case has already become a major political flashpoint in Bihar.
