The BJP has launched a strong attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, raising serious questions about election law violations. The party claimed that Pawan Khera, Congress’s media chief, has two Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC), which could be illegal.
During a press conference in Delhi, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that Khera holds voter IDs from two different areas—one from Jangpura Assembly and another from Assembly Constituency 40. He emphasized that according to Indian election laws, no one should vote in more than one constituency. Bhandari accused Khera of vote fraud and suggested that Rahul Gandhi, who supports Khera, might also be involved.
Bhandari asked five questions to Rahul Gandhi, including whether he knew about Khera’s dual voter IDs and if he would condemn him. He also accused the Gandhi-Vadra family of trying to block the ongoing process to update voter lists and alleged that the Congress party has a history of electoral irregularities.
He drew parallels with a recent issue in Bihar, where it was found that Tejashwi Yadav had multiple EPIC IDs. Bhandari alleged that Congress is now using similar tactics and criticised Rahul Gandhi for blaming ordinary citizens instead of addressing the alleged electoral fraud in his own party.
The BJP leader also questioned how Sonia Gandhi’s name appeared on voter lists in 1980, claiming she wasn’t an Indian citizen at that time. He called on Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders to apologise to the nation for these allegations.
At the same time, Bhandari pointed out that Rahul Gandhi has been calling common citizens “fake” and “thieves” in his speeches, but the evidence suggests that the real “vote thieves” might be within his own party. This ongoing controversy has reignited debates over electoral integrity in India.
