Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta kicked off a big day with a traditional havan ceremony at the new BJP Delhi headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg. This happened Monday, just ahead of the official inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Joining her were several key Delhi ministers, including Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Supriya Swaraj, Ashish Sood, and Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva was there too, making it a lively gathering for party supporters.
Chatting with reporters afterward, Gupta beamed with pride as she congratulated all BJP workers. “This is a historic moment—building the world’s largest party headquarters right here in the capital,” she said. “It’ll inspire thousands of our dedicated workers. And getting inaugurated by PM Modi? I feel so lucky as a fellow BJP party worker.”
The excitement didn’t stop there. Late Sunday night, Gupta had already shared her joy over Team India’s thrilling Asia Cup final win against Pakistan. She called it a perfect boost during Navratri celebrations dedicated to Maa Durga, bringing happiness to India’s 1.44 billion people.
“From the bottom of my heart, congratulations to the entire Indian cricket team,” she told reporters. “This historic victory in the Asia Cup is a real celebration for all of us.”
Earlier that day, Gupta cut the ribbon on a brand-new flyover in Nand Nagri, a project that had dragged on for years but finally wrapped up quickly under her government’s watch—at a cost of Rs 180 crore.
Talking to the media, the CM explained, “We hit the ground running as soon as we took office, pushing this long-delayed work forward. Now it’s ready to serve the public and ease daily commutes.”
Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma echoed her enthusiasm, stressing the government’s focus on better connectivity in the Yamuna region. “We’ll build every flyover and road needed to smooth out traffic across Yamuna Paar,” he said. “No worries about funding—it’s all getting done.”
