In Shimla, the state’s capital, the long‑awaited statue of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be unveiled on October 13 at the historic Ridge Ground.

The ceremony is a proud moment for Pratibha Singh, president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) and wife of the late leader. She told that top Congress leaders—including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rajni Patil—will attend. Senior party members from across the state are also expected to be present.

The unveiling was originally set for June, but heavy rains and flooding in Himachal Pradesh forced a postponement. “We finally get to celebrate it now,” Pratibha said. She expressed deep gratitude that Sonia Gandhi will travel to Shimla. “Her presence sends a powerful message—no leader is forgotten,” she added. Priyanka Gandhi has already arrived, and Rajni Patil will be there as well.

The statue, standing six feet tall, honors Virbhadra Singh’s legacy as a six‑time chief minister and a respected figure in Himachal politics. The event promises a dignified ceremony, with state ministers, party workers and loyal supporters joining to honour the memory of a leader who shaped the region’s political landscape.
