Leaders in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are sharing warm Vijayadashami greetings with their people, celebrating the festival’s message of good triumphing over evil. Also known as Dussehra or Dasara, this occasion marks the end of Navaratri and honors Goddess Durga’s victory.
In Telangana, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma sent heartfelt wishes to everyone in the state. He highlighted how Navaratri brings joy and reminds us of the timeless battle against evil. “Truth alone triumphs” – our national motto – calls on us to tackle challenges like diseases, environmental threats, and more, while building a greener nation, Varma said. He prayed that the Divine Mother blesses all during these happy Dasara festivities.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy joined in with sincere greetings to Telangana residents. He called Dasara a key part of the state’s vibrant culture, symbolizing unity among diverse communities and the win of righteousness. Reddy pointed out local traditions like the Dashami puja with sacred Jammi leaves, exchanging Alai Balai greetings, seeking elders’ blessings, and spotting the auspicious Pala Pitta bird. He asked Goddess Durga to bring massive growth, victories, and joy to every corner of Telangana this festival season.
Over in Andhra Pradesh, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer offered his best wishes on Vijaya Dasami. He described it as a cornerstone of India’s cultural heritage, where devotees honor nine forms of Goddess Durga during Navaratri to celebrate dharma’s supremacy. Nazeer prayed for her choicest blessings on this festive day.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu greeted Telugu people across the state, wishing for Mother Sri Kanakadurga’s grace. He spoke of Navratri’s focus on Shakti worship and the divine forms of Ammavaru. Naidu hoped her blessings guide Andhra Pradesh’s welfare efforts, from Amma canteens feeding the poor and pensions for the needy, to schemes like Deepam for women, free bus travel via Stree Shakti, Talli Ki Vandanam for education, Anna Daata Sukhibhava for farmers, and the P4 policy for the underprivileged. With industrial growth, he envisioned every home lit up with prosperity this Dasara.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also extended Dussehra cheers, tying the festival to Lord Rama’s triumph over Ravana, which spread strength, protected the world, and upheld justice. He prayed for happiness, joy, and all-around progress for the nation on this Vijaya Dasami.
