Karnataka BJP Leaders Meet Amit Shah Over Dharmasthala Murder Case and Anti-Hindu Policies
A group of Karnataka BJP leaders rushed to Delhi on Monday to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah. They shared serious concerns about the Dharmasthala murder case, violence during Ganesh Visarjan processions, and what they call the Congress government’s "anti-Hindu" policies in the state. This meeting highlights growing tensions over law and order in Karnataka.
State BJP President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra spoke to reporters after the meeting. He explained how the delegation told Amit Shah about a possible conspiracy linked to the Dharmasthala issue. "The state government isn’t digging deep enough into who’s behind this plot," Vijayendra said. "We laid out all the details for the Home Minister." The team urged Shah to look into the matter closely.
The delegation included big names like Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Opposition leader R. Ashoka, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, BJP MPs Kota Srinivas Poojary and Brijesh Chowta, Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja, "Dharmasthala Chalo" campaign leaders, party MLA S.R. Vishwanath, and South Karnataka district president Satish Kumpal. They painted a grim picture of Karnataka’s situation.
Vijayendra pointed out several troubling incidents under the Congress-led government. These include the Dharmasthala murder case, the killing of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru, and the murder of Gavisidappa, a Hindu activist from the Valmiki community in Koppal. The group also raised alarms about the breakdown of law and order across the state. They accused the government of dropping criminal cases against accused individuals during Cabinet meetings.
The BJP leaders complained that the police force in Karnataka has weakened over the past few months. "The state isn’t giving police the power they need to act," Vijayendra added. They also discussed violence during Ganesh Visarjan in Maddur district, calling it part of broader "anti-Hindu" policies.
Amit Shah listened patiently to all these issues, according to Vijayendra. The delegation didn’t push for a specific probe by agencies like the NIA into the Dharmasthala case. Instead, they focused on their role as the opposition. "With law and order crumbling and attacks on Hindu activists rising, we’ve done our job by alerting the Home Minister," Vijayendra said.
This meeting comes amid rising political heat in Karnataka over the Dharmasthala murder case and related controversies. BJP hopes it sparks action to restore peace and protect communities in the state. Stay tuned for updates on Karnataka politics and Amit Shah’s response.
