Karnataka: Massive fire breaks out at scrap dealing unit in Uchila, Udupi district

A huge blaze erupted on Sunday at a scrap‑dealing workshop in Uchila village, inside Udupi district of Karnataka, India. The fire quickly spread and filled the area with thick smoke that could be seen billowing high above the village.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and are still battling the flames. The crew works hard to keep the fire from touching nearby homes and fields. So far, officials say they can’t say what sparked the fire. They are still investigating and will update the public once more details come in.

For now, residents in the village and surrounding areas are staying alert as emergency crews work through the night to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
