Mumbai, Oct 1 () – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared warm greetings on the eve of Vijayadashami and Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, highlighting the tough times brought by heavy rains across the state.
With floods and disasters hitting many areas hard, Fadnavis called on everyone to rally behind the affected people. “Let’s stand strong with our disaster-hit citizens right now,” he said. “We need to do our best to support farmers and laborers. Together, let’s rebuild their lives with fresh hope and determination.”
He hoped the Vijayadashami festival – also known as Dussehra – would bring joy, prosperity, and strength to overcome these challenges. Fadnavis also extended best wishes for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, marking the day Dr. B.R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism and championed social equality.
In his message, the chief minister drew inspiration from Vijayadashami’s core idea: the triumph of truth over lies and good over evil. “This festival gives us positive energy,” he noted. “Maharashtra has a proud history of beating tough situations, from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to our great leaders. Let’s carry that forward by uniting for the state’s growth and keeping Maharashtra’s development flag flying high.”
Fadnavis praised Ambedkar’s legacy on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, saying his work on equality through the Dharma Chakra continues to guide the world. “May this day inspire us all forever,” he added.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat also greeted people on the joyous Dussehra occasion. In his message, he explained that Vijayadashami stands for the win of truth over untruth and justice over wrongdoing. “May this festival fill your lives with peace, happiness, and prosperity,” the governor said. “Heartiest greetings to everyone on this special day.”
