BJP Leader Slams Opposition’s Flip-Flop on India-Pakistan Cricket Matches

In Jaipur, BJP Rajasthan President Madan Rathore fired back at the opposition on Saturday, calling out their double standards over India’s role in the Asia Cup 2025 clash with Pakistan. Speaking to , Rathore pointed out how opposition leaders keep changing their tune on India-Pakistan cricket ties—one day they push for sending players, the next they oppose it entirely.

"Why this double nature?" Rathore asked. "Sometimes they say send our team, other times they say don’t. This flip-flopping isn’t right." He highlighted how the same leaders who once preached sportsmanship to justify sending players now stand against participation, especially amid the nation’s anger over Pakistan’s actions.

Rathore added, "The whole country feels hurt by Pakistan’s behavior. But these opposition folks? When our government said no to sending players before, they cried about sportsmanship and urged us to go ahead."

On the other side, Congress MP Imran Masood hit out at the upcoming India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match, labeling it a pure money-making scheme. "This is all business," Masood told . "Broadcast rights sell for sky-high prices, and they don’t care that just days ago, terrorists wiped out our sisters in Pahalgam. We’ve skipped sending our hockey team before too—why not now?"

Masood didn’t hold back on the government either, calling their decision a "shame" amid the fresh pain from the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. In that brutal incident, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 26 tourists in the name of religion. "Those who destroyed our sisters’ home—how can you play cricket with them?" he said. "The government should feel ashamed. They once said blood and water won’t mix with Pakistan, but now they’re letting our teams play together. Where’s their morality?"

The heated debate comes as India gears up to face Pakistan in the Asia Cup on Sunday, stirring fresh controversy over cricket diplomacy and India-Pakistan relations after the devastating Pahalgam attack. Tensions run high, with many questioning if sports should mix with such serious security concerns.
