In the middle of Bihar’s high‑stakes assembly election, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh took to the polls in a fire‑cracking speech that pointed the finger squarely at the Mahagathbandhan and its leaders. He warned voters that the alliance’s choice of chief minister is “corrupt” and said that only the NDA can keep Bihar’s administration clean and on the right track for progress.
During a rally in Mohania on the final day of campaigning, Singh said the RJD and Congress plan to divide society by exploiting caste and religion. He singled out Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav for their record of corruption and “shameless” campaigning, urging that a true leader should step down as soon as a corruption charge appears.
Singh also highlighted the NDA’s reforms, pointing out that direct benefit transfers—introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi—send money straight into citizens’ bank accounts, bypassing loopholes that let corruption fester. He dismissed accusations of “vote theft” by Congress as false and said Rahul Gandhi is misleading the public.
“The people of Bihar can now proudly welcome visitors to a development‑led state,” Singh said. He contrasted the current progress with the past, describing the former “jungle raj” of Lalu Ji’s administration as a dark era. He praised Nitish Kumar for steering the state away from that past and into an era of growth.
The BJP‑led NDA stresses it is more than a coalition; it is a partnership of good intentions. Singh closed by saying Bihar’s future depends on the state’s development, and that India as a whole will progress only when Bihar becomes truly prosperous.
