Yoga guru Baba Ramdev hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent address on GST reforms, calling it a major boost for India’s economy. Speaking to on Sunday, Ramdev said the changes give fresh energy to the nation’s growth and bring the country closer to Modi’s vision of a developed Viksit Bharat by 2047.

“By cutting GST rates, PM Modi has sparked new momentum in the economy,” Ramdev told . “This helps everyday people save money, eases the burden on taxpayers, and pushes the country toward prosperity. For instance, slashing GST on many products from 18% or 12% down to 5% ensures more cash in people’s pockets and drives economic progress.”

Ramdev also praised Modi’s ongoing push for Swadeshi products, or homegrown goods, as a key to self-reliance. “When people embrace this Swadeshi spirit, India will march toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat and lead the world,” he added.

In his video address to the nation earlier that day from New Delhi, PM Modi explained how the government’s latest GST reductions make life more affordable. These reforms lower costs on essentials like houses, cars, bikes, scooters, TVs, refrigerators, and other household items, helping citizens chase their dreams without breaking the bank.

Travel gets a lift too, with GST cuts on most hotel rooms making vacations cheaper. Modi launched a nationwide GST Bachat Utsav to celebrate these savings and promote inclusive growth. He stressed that this is a big step in building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, where everyone benefits from economic reforms.

The prime minister was thrilled by shopkeepers’ quick response. “They’re passing on the lower prices to customers right away,” Modi noted. In many areas, stores are putting up boards showing before-and-after price comparisons to highlight the GST savings for shoppers.
