Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch a major healthcare initiative for women and children in India. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda shared the exciting news on Monday, announcing that the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ will kick off on September 17. This comes right on PM Modi’s 75th birthday, and he’ll be launching it from Madhya Pradesh.
The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan focuses on boosting healthcare services for women and children nationwide. It runs from September 17 to October 2, aiming to improve access, quality care, and awareness about health issues. Nadda highlighted in a post on X that this step supports the government’s vision of inclusive healthcare for everyone.
As part of this drive, organizers plan to set up 75,000 health camps across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), and other facilities. These camps will offer essential services tailored to women’s and children’s needs, helping build healthier families and stronger communities.
Nadda also announced that Poshan Maah will take place at all Anganwadis during this period. It will promote nutrition, health awareness, and overall well-being for kids and families. He urged private hospitals and healthcare stakeholders to join in, calling it a ‘Jan Bhagidaari Abhiyaan’ – a people’s participation movement. “With ‘India First’ as our guiding light, let’s work together for a developed Viksit Bharat,” he added.
In other news from the visit, PM Modi will also perform the Bhoomi Pujan for the PM Mitra Textile Park in Badnawar, Madhya Pradesh. Spanning 2,158 acres, this becomes the first such textile park to get completed in the country, promising a boost to the textile sector and local jobs.
