Mumbai, Nov 7 – The Mahayuti alliance – made up of the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP – is under fire after a police complaint in the Pune‑land scam left out the name of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth Pawar.
The case involves a 40‑acre plot in “Mahar Watan” land in Mundhwa Koregaon Park that has been linked to Amedea Enterprises LLP, a company in which Parth Pawar is a partner.
Opposition leaders and anti‑corruption activists posted on X on Friday demanded that the FIR be amended to name Parth Pawar and that the government appoint an independent probe team.
“Parth Pawar’s name, and the company’s name, are missing from the FIR,” said Shiv Sena (UBT) veteran Ambadas Danve. “The state is playing tricks. It needs a retired judge on the inquiry and no more loopholes.”
Congress’ Vijay Wadettiwar echoed the call, saying the case should be registered against Parth Pawar and that Ajit Pawar should step down. “If the money comes from a private deal, where did it go? The investigation must be transparent,” he added.
Activist Anjali Damania also criticised the omission. “Why is Parth Pawar’s name absent? We need an inquiry that includes civil society members – not just government officials,” she said.
Former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA Raju Patil warned that infighting among the three ruling partners could let the scam slip through. He cited past controversies, such as the 4,000‑crore tunnel tender fraud in Thane‑Borivali and the 300‑crore Jain boarding scam, to illustrate how allegations often disappear without a proper probe.
The Mahayuti government claims the FIR is complete, but critics argue that important figures are excluded and that the state is protecting those involved. The debate over the Pune land scam highlights concerns about corruption and transparency in Maharashtra’s high‑level politics.
