The Railway Protection Force (RPF) joined the 2025 Vedanta Half Marathon in Delhi on Sunday, showcasing its commitment to fitness and community service. A team of 26 RPF officers—five of them women—lined up at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium under the direction of Director General Sonali Mishra, IPS, and IG Kamaljot Brar of the Northern Railway.
The RPF’s presence at the marathon highlights the force’s focus on physical fitness, discipline, and broader social responsibility. The team ran under the banner “Operation NARCOS,” a campaign that underscores the RPF’s ongoing fight against drug trafficking on the railway network and its effort to educate young people about the dangers of drug abuse.
Beyond the run, the event also served as a platform for the RunForZeroHunger movement. Over 40,000 participants in the Delhi Half Marathon 2025 raised funds and awareness to end hunger and malnutrition. Vedanta, the title sponsor, pledged a Poshan Pack— a nutrition supplement— for every kilometre run. The initiative hit its target quickly, with participants running a total of 5 million kilometres to distribute 5 million Poshan Packs to children in Nand Ghar villages.
Nand Ghar is a Vedanta‑led project that offers nutrition, health care, early childhood education, and skill‑building for women across 15 Indian states. With nearly 10,000 centres already operating, the program strives to keep children out of bed hungry and empower women in rural communities.
The RPF continues to balance its core mission of ensuring passenger safety with a growing role in social outreach, reinforcing its dedication to national security and inclusive development.
