RJD Leader Shot Dead in Patna: Bike-Borne Attackers Open Fire
Patna’s Munnachak area is reeling from shock after RJD leader Rajkumar Rai, also known as Allah Rai, got gunned down by two attackers on a bike. The brutal murder happened late Wednesday night under the Chitragupt Nagar police station limits, leaving locals on edge.
Rai, who hailed from Raghopur in Vaishali district but lived in Munnachak, suffered six gunshot wounds. He died at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) despite quick medical help.
Patna’s SP (East Range) Parichay Kumar confirmed the details. He said Rai was deep into politics with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and also handled land-related business. "We’ve spotted the two suspects on CCTV footage, and police recovered six spent bullets from the scene," Kumar added.
Here’s what went down: Rai was driving home in his car when he pulled over near his house to grab some food. That’s when the bike-riding duo zoomed in and fired at him. Rai collapsed right there from the injuries.
Chitragupt Nagar police, just nearby, rushed to the spot and rushed him to PMCH. Sadly, doctors couldn’t save him. Senior cops like ASP Sadar Abhinav Kumar, Kankarbagh SHO Abhay Kumar, and the local SHO arrived with extra forces to secure the area.
Police have filed an FIR and called in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to gather evidence. They’re now hunting for the killers, with early clues pointing to property disputes as the possible motive behind this Patna murder case.
The attack has sparked fear in Munnachak, especially since Rai was a key RJD figure. Officers are questioning eyewitnesses, talking to his family, and even checking his mobile phone for leads on the attackers and the reason for the shooting.
