Shiv Sena Leader Demands Ban on India-Pakistan Asia Cup Match Broadcast
In a bold move, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey has urged Sony Pictures Private Limited to halt the live telecast of today’s India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match in Dubai. Writing a letter on Sunday, Dubey made a strong case against airing the high-stakes cricket clash in India.
"We request you to impose a complete ban on the live broadcast of the India-Pakistan Asia Cup match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium," Dubey stated in his letter to Sony Live. He added, "The match should not be shown in India. We expect a quick and positive response from you."
This call comes amid growing backlash from the political party over the Asia Cup 2025 fixture scheduled for September 14 in Dubai. With tensions running high between India and Pakistan, the decision to go ahead with the game has sparked heated debates.
Indian cricket fans are split down the middle on whether the India vs Pakistan match should happen at all. The thrilling rivalry, known for its edge-of-the-seat action, often goes down to the wire, but recent unrest has left many questioning if sports should take a backseat.
