Shocking Case in Delhi: Man Arrested for Allegedly Molesting 6-Year-Old Girl at Speech Therapy Centre
In a disturbing incident from Delhi’s Rohini area, police have arrested a 32-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl at a private speech therapy centre. The arrest happened on September 8, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The child’s mother first noticed something was wrong on September 7. After picking up her daughter from a therapy session, she saw the little girl behaving unusually. The mother, who had enrolled her speech-disabled daughter in 45-minute sessions at the centre since August 19, grew worried when the child started mimicking sexual actions on September 6.
When the mother asked her daughter about it, the girl pointed to her speech therapist as the person responsible. Shocked, the mother told her husband right away, and the family rushed to the Samaypur Badli police station to file a complaint.
Police acted quickly. They took the girl for a medical check-up and held counselling sessions with her. During these, the mother revealed that the accused had allegedly touched her daughter’s chest and private parts inappropriately.
Authorities have now registered a case under key sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) – Section 74 for assault to outrage modesty and Section 75 for sexual harassment – along with Section 10 of the POCSO Act for aggravated sexual assault on a child. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act aims to safeguard kids from such crimes, and police are probing deeper into the child sexual assault case.
The accused is in custody, and investigations continue to uncover more details about this heartbreaking POCSO case in Delhi. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
