Three people lost their lives and 25 others were injured when a tractor‑trolley overturned near Chandravatiganj in Sanwer, just outside Indore, on Thursday morning.
The crash happened while farmers were returning home after a day of work in the fields. The vehicle, which can carry several passengers, lost its balance on the road and tipped over, sending everyone inside into the road.
Police say the two oldest victims were 40‑year‑old Jankibai and 50‑year‑old Kamla Bai. A minor also died while being taken for medical help. Two other patients remain critical and will soon be moved to Indore hospitals.
Emergency services responded quickly, sending 15 ambulances to the scene. Injured riders were taken to Civil Hospital Sanwer for treatment, and local hospitals have been notified to prepare for more patients.
The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Investigators will look into whether overloading or road conditions played a role. Tractor‑trolleys are a common means of group transport for farm laborers, but the incident highlights growing safety concerns on rural roads.
Indore authorities have promised continued medical support for the injured and added care for the families of those who died. The community remains in mourning as the region deals with the tragedy.
