The action unfolded during a routine check in Indirapuram. Officers spotted two men speeding towards them on a motorcycle. When police signaled them to stop, the duo panicked, turned around, and tried to escape. Their bike skidded, throwing them off. As they scrambled to flee on foot, one of the men pulled out an illegal pistol and fired at the officers. In self-defense, police returned fire, hitting Shahbaz in the leg. He collapsed injured and got caught, while his partner slipped away into the night.

ACP Abhishek Srivastav shared the details: "We recovered an illegal pistol, cartridges, and a stolen motorcycle from Shahbaz’s possession. Teams are now hunting for the escaped accomplice."

This arrest marks another win for Uttar Pradesh police against rising street crimes like chain snatching in Ghaziabad and nearby areas. Further probe into Shahbaz’s criminal history continues.

ASP Gyanendra Kumar Singh explained: "Intelligence and video evidence helped us identify the suspects. During the chase, one thief was arrested after a brief scuffle. We’re still investigating to recover the stolen goods."

These back-to-back encounters highlight Uttar Pradesh police’s aggressive push against petty crimes and robberies across the state. Stay tuned for updates on the ongoing manhunts.
