Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to De Dehradun on Sunday to kick off Uttarakhand’s 25‑year anniversary and open a series of new development plans that together cost more than ₹8,140 crore.
On X, Modi announced, “We are fully committed to developing and enriching Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Tomorrow, on November 9, I will join the silver‑jubilee celebrations of the state’s formation.” He added that he would start the day at 12:30 p.m. in De Dehradun by unveiling foundation stones for projects in education, irrigation, sports and more, and by announcing a new postage stamp to mark the milestone.
The campaigns earmarked for the visit cover key sectors: drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports and skill training. In total, the PM will launch projects worth more than ₹930 crore and lay foundation stones for initiatives worth over ₹7,210 crore.
A major highlight is the ₹62 crore direct payment to more than 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, which will transfer money straight into bank accounts.
Key projects announced include:
* AMRUT‑scheme water supply delivering coverage to 23 zones of De Dehradun.
* New electrical substation in Pithoragarh.
* Solar power plants on government buildings.
* An AstroTurf hockey ground at Nainital’s Haldwani Stadium.
