In New Delhi, top leaders gathered for vibrant Ramleela celebrations at Ramlila Maidan, organized by Shri Dharmic Leela. Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Delhi BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva, and Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma all joined the festivities in the heart of the capital.
Parvesh Verma took the stage to share some practical advice with the crowd. He told reporters, “It’s festival time in Delhi, so please celebrate responsibly. When you head to Ramleela events, stay alert to your surroundings for security reasons and keep harmony among everyone.” His words aimed to ensure safe and joyful Navratri vibes across the city.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stepped in as the chief guest for the fifth day of Ramleela at Sanatan Sanskarm in Sector 23, Bawana constituency in Rohini. She chatted with differently-abled children at the event and praised their enthusiasm for joining the cultural fun. “It’s heartwarming to see everyone participating,” she noted, highlighting the inclusive spirit of these Hindu festivals.
Just earlier this week, CM Gupta made headlines by extending loudspeaker rules for Ramleela, Durga Puja, and other religious events. Now, they can run until midnight—pushing past the old 10 PM cutoff. She explained that this change lets Delhi’s Hindu celebrations flow freely, just like in neighboring states, without cutting the energy short.
Across India, the nine-day Navratri festival honors Goddess Durga’s nine forms with devotion and excitement. People fast, offer prayers, and dance to Garba and Dandiya beats, creating a lively atmosphere full of color and community spirit. These traditions bring families together during the festive season, blending faith with fun.
